'black out a memory' 指的是试图忘记某些事情，比如不愉快的经历等：
'I was so scared on that rollercoaster, I will try and black out that memory.' （我坐过山车好害怕。我会试着忘掉那段记忆。）
如果说某人是 'black and blue' ，那是说他/她浑身青一块紫一块：
'After the first game of rugby for the year, he came home black and blue.' (打完年内第一场橄榄球比赛后，他回到家全身青一块紫一块的。)
如果说某人有个 'black mark' ，那是指人们认为他/她做的某件事很糟糕并会记住这一点：
